Easy to understand icons make finding buttons quick and painless. Sonoma operators do not have to learn complex ASCII keyboard combinations anymore. Button layout choices are made to enhance speed of operation and decrease user stress. For example, there is a dedicated section (mauve in color) which addresses all transition based editing operations such as incoming edit point, outgoing edit point, both edit points, and with a modifier, incoming fade, outgoing fade, and crossfade. Next to those are keys to adjust incoming level and outgoing level. Complex music can be edited to perfection quickly and easily. That's just one example. The large majority of keyboard accelerators used every day are mapped to these controllers, and there is still room for user customization.
